About the group

The mission of the Service Oriented Computing Group is to pursue long-term research in Web services, Service Oriented Architectures, and autonomous data sharing. Currently we focus on web services protocols and services composition, trust management, peer-to-peer data sharing, service provisioning in mobile environments. We are also involved in e-commerce teaching activities at the school. The group maintains fruitful collaborations with a number of national and international academic research groups, industry and government research institutions, and commercial companies.

10th International Conference on Web Engineering (ICWE2010)

The Tenth International Conference on Web Engineering (ICWE 2010) will be held July 5 - 9, 2010 in Vienna, Austria. ICWE 2010 aims at promoting research and scientific excellence on Web Engineering and at bringing together scientists and practitioners interested in technologies, methodologies, tools, and techniques used to develop and maintain Web-based applications and to enable and improve the dissemination and use of Web-related content.

Dr. Rajkumar Buyya's visit to Service Oriented Computing Research Group

Recently, Dr. Rajkumar Buyya visited SOC group for the period starting 16 August 2010  and ending 17 August 2010. Dr. Rajkumar Buyya is Professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering; and Director of the Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems (CLOUDS) Laboratory at the University of  Melbourne, Australia. During this visit he a gave school wide presentation on his recent work related to Cloud Computing. In particular, his presentation topic was "Aneka: A Platform for Market-Oriented Cloud Computing".
